Sara Abuobeid has been promoted to Director of Marketing & Communications at McDonald’s Qatar, marking a significant step forward in her leadership journey. The elevation reflects her consistent ability to drive brand impact and deliver measurable outcomes within the quick-service restaurant (QSR) industry.
She stepped into the new role in December 2025, following nearly three years as Senior Marketing & Communications Manager. During this period, she played a key role in aligning marketing initiatives with broader business objectives while strengthening customer engagement.
In her expanded position, Abuobeid now oversees the overall marketing and communications strategy for McDonald’s Qatar. She collaborates closely with internal teams and agency partners to ensure campaigns are aligned with business priorities and deliver consistent brand messaging. Her approach blends creative storytelling with data-backed insights to enhance visibility and build stronger consumer connections.
Her tenure has been defined by multiple achievements and industry recognitions. She contributed to McDonald’s Qatar being ranked the #1 Best Workplace in Qatar for 2024 by Great Place to Work Middle East. Additionally, she led award-winning campaigns, including Best CSR Initiative wins for Rahlatuna in 2022 and 2023, accolades at the MMA Smarties Awards 2023, and recognition at the MEPRA Awards, where the brand secured Gold for Best Marketing Campaign in Qatar (2022).
Her contributions also extend to global-scale initiatives, including campaigns tied to the FIFA World Cup, which earned the Circle of Excellence Award in 2022.
Beyond commercial achievements, Abuobeid has championed purpose-led initiatives. She was instrumental in launching the region’s first fully female-operated McDonald’s restaurant, reinforcing the brand’s focus on diversity and inclusion. Her CSR efforts have further strengthened community engagement and enhanced the brand’s reputation as a socially responsible organisation.
Before joining McDonald’s Qatar, Abuobeid built an international career across organisations such as the University of Aberdeen, ATCO Group, Blind Ferret Entertainment, and Concordia University. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Concordia University, combining analytical expertise with strategic marketing acumen.
As she takes on this leadership role, Abuobeid is expected to further strengthen McDonald’s Qatar’s brand presence through innovative, customer-focused campaigns that drive both engagement and business growth.
