Athar Festival opens applications for fourth edition of Maheerah Programme at 2026 event

Athar – Saudi Festival of Creativity has announced the return of its Maheerah Programme for a fourth consecutive year, with applications now open for the 2026 edition.

Supported by Publicis Groupe Middle East, the initiative is designed to empower high-performing women in the mid-stages of their careers by providing mentorship, leadership development, and access to a strong professional network within Saudi Arabia’s creative marketing and communications industry.

Bassel Kakish, Chief Executive Officer at Publicis Groupe ME & Turkey, said, “The Maheerah programme has grown into a community of talented women who are shaping the future of Saudi Arabia’s marketing and communications industry while inspiring the next generation to follow.”

Kakish added, “As we enter the fourth year of our partnership with Athar, we are proud to continue investing in the next generation of talent and look forward to welcoming this year’s cohort. We believe a stronger industry starts with investing in our future leaders, and together with Athar, we remain committed to building a stronger marketing and communications ecosystem for the Kingdom.”

The Maheerah initiative is built around three key pillars. Its Programme delivers an intensive mentorship and professional development experience, while the Network keeps members connected through year-round workshops, discussions, and community events. Graduates also become part of the Alumni community, which provides continued networking opportunities and peer support.

Kamille Marchant, Director of Athar Festival, said, “I’ve been fortunate enough to see the Maheerah Programme evolve from an ambitious concept into a thriving community of talented and driven women. It has become an important part of Athar Festival’s vision for a creative marcomms ecosystem where all Saudi talent can thrive.”

Marchant added, “What has been most rewarding is seeing its alumni go on to achieve so much in their careers. They continue to inspire me through their skill, professionalism, and willingness to support one another as they learn and grow. I have no doubt that the women joining this year will continue that tradition.”

Today, the Maheerah Network includes more than 300 professionals from across Saudi Arabia’s creative marketing and communications sector. Members benefit from over a dozen annual sessions covering subjects such as creative confidence, presentation skills, negotiation techniques, and other career development topics, alongside networking events throughout the year.

The fourth edition of the Maheerah Programme will take place during Athar Festival 2026, scheduled to be held in Riyadh on 24–25 November 2026. Applications are open to women working across Saudi Arabia’s creative marketing and communications industry from 30 June until 24 September, with the selected cohort set to be announced in October 2026.
