TikTok Removes Over 15.5 Million Videos Across MENA in Q1 2026

TikTok removed 15,519,240 videos across Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Oman, Iraq, Morocco, Lebanon and Sudan during the first quarter of 2026, according to its latest Community Guidelines Enforcement Report.

The report, covering activity between January and March 2026, outlines TikTok’s enforcement measures across the MENA region and globally, including actions against content, accounts and LIVE activity that violated its Community Guidelines.

Globally, TikTok removed 86,288,705 fake accounts during Q1 2026, along with 25,764,372 accounts suspected of belonging to users under the age of 13. The platform said these measures form part of its efforts to maintain age-appropriate experiences and address accounts that may not comply with its requirements.

TikTok uses automated detection systems, account-level enforcement and human review to identify and act on policy violations.

LIVE enforcement

The platform also reported increased enforcement activity across TikTok LIVE during the quarter. Globally, 50,791,858 LIVE sessions were suspended in Q1 2026, up approximately 18.6% from the 42,822,827 sessions suspended during Q4 2025.

A further 58,207,389 LIVE sessions received demonetization measures or warnings, while 21,966,667 LIVE creators were demonetized or warned during the quarter.

Across Egypt, Iraq, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Oman, Sudan and Morocco, TikTok proactively interrupted 3,077,164 livestreams and banned 530,510 LIVE hosts for Community Guidelines violations.

UAE

TikTok removed 752,214 videos in the UAE during Q1 2026. The platform recorded a proactive removal rate of 98%, while 88.9% of violating videos were removed within 24 hours of being reported.

Following successful appeals, 40,661 videos were restored in the UAE. TikTok also banned 40,216 LIVE hosts and interrupted 285,761 livestreams in the country.

Egypt

In Egypt, TikTok removed 3,612,773 videos that violated its Community Guidelines. The platform reported a proactive removal rate of 99.6%, with 93.6% of violative videos removed within 24 hours of being reported.

Successful appeals resulted in the restoration of 146,417 videos. On LIVE, TikTok banned 151,630 hosts and interrupted 769,200 livestreams in Egypt.

Saudi Arabia

TikTok removed 2,811,302 videos in Saudi Arabia during Q1 2026. The platform reported a proactive removal rate of 98.2%, while 92.8% of violative videos were removed within 24 hours of being reported.

The platform restored 150,916 videos following successful appeals. It also banned 48,106 LIVE hosts and interrupted 371,758 livestreams in the Kingdom.

Morocco

In Morocco, TikTok removed 530,652 videos during the quarter. The platform achieved a proactive removal rate of 99.0%, with 94.4% of violative videos removed within 24 hours of being reported.

Following successful appeals, 26,835 videos were restored. TikTok also banned 55,664 LIVE hosts and interrupted 254,351 livestreams in Morocco.

Iraq

Iraq accounted for 5,253,566 videos removed by TikTok during Q1 2026. The country recorded a proactive removal rate of 99.4%, while 95% of violative videos were removed within 24 hours of being reported.

TikTok restored 157,124 videos following successful appeals, the highest number among the eight MENA markets covered in the report. The platform also banned 186,997 LIVE hosts and interrupted 1,149,253 livestreams in Iraq.

Lebanon

TikTok removed 926,006 videos in Lebanon during Q1 2026. The platform recorded a proactive removal rate of 99.7%, while 95.6% of violative videos were removed within 24 hours of being reported.

Successful appeals led to the restoration of 19,339 videos. TikTok also banned 15,456 LIVE hosts and interrupted 94,899 livestreams in Lebanon.

Oman

In Oman, TikTok removed 249,895 videos during the quarter and recorded a proactive removal rate of 99%. Meanwhile, 95.5% of violative videos were removed within 24 hours of being reported.

The platform restored 7,416 videos following successful appeals and banned 7,885 LIVE hosts. It also interrupted 56,878 livestreams in Oman for violations of its Community Guidelines.

Sudan

TikTok removed 1,382,832 videos in Sudan during Q1 2026. The country reported a proactive removal rate of 99.9%, the highest among the MENA markets covered in the report.

A total of 98% of violative videos were removed within 24 hours of being reported, while 25,045 videos were restored following successful appeals. On LIVE, TikTok banned 24,566 hosts and interrupted 95,064 livestreams in Sudan.

Focus on transparency and enforcement

TikTok said transparency remains an important part of its approach to platform safety. Its Community Guidelines Enforcement Report provides insight into how the platform detects and reviews policy violations and the actions taken against content and accounts that breach its rules.

The report also highlights the appeal mechanisms available to users whose content or accounts are subject to enforcement.

TikTok combines automated moderation technology with its Trust and Safety teams to enforce its policies at scale while maintaining review and appeal processes.

The platform said its continued investment in moderation technology, localized enforcement systems and transparency initiatives is intended to support a safer digital environment across MENA and globally while allowing users to participate, create and express themselves.
