Mastercard Appoints Yasemin Bedir as President of EEMEA Region

Mastercard has appointed Yasemin Bedir as President of its Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa (EEMEA) region, effective September 1, 2026. In her new role, Bedir will oversee Mastercard’s operations across the 81-country region, leading its regional strategy, business priorities and growth agenda.

Bedir succeeds Dimitrios Dosis, who has moved into the role of Chief Commercial Payments Officer at Mastercard. In his new position, Dosis will lead the company’s Commercial and New Payment Flows business.

Based in the UAE, Bedir will work closely with Mastercard’s ecosystem of retailers, fintech companies, financial institutions, governments and businesses across EEMEA. She will also join Mastercard’s Management Committee.

Commenting on the appointment, Sachin Mehra, Chief Business Officer at Mastercard, highlighted Bedir’s leadership experience and ability to build strong teams and customer relationships.

Yasemin is a leader who finds the best in her teams to help them deliver the greatest impact for our customers and to fuel local economies,” Mehra said.

He also highlighted the importance of strong partnerships, creative thinking and proven execution in a diverse and evolving EEMEA market.

Bedir brings nearly two decades of experience at Mastercard, having joined the company in 2007 and held leadership positions across multiple markets.

Before taking on her new regional role, she served as Division President for Eastern Europe for four years. During her tenure, she led Mastercard’s business through a complex geopolitical and regulatory landscape while working to strengthen the company’s position across Eastern European markets. Her responsibilities also included developing talent and fostering a culture focused on accountability and collaboration.

Earlier in her Mastercard career, Bedir served as General Manager for Turkey and Azerbaijan, before moving to North America. There, she spent nearly five years managing relationships with community institutions and payment processors.

Prior to joining Mastercard, Bedir held positions at HSBC, Garanti Bank and Yapı Kredi in Turkey, giving her experience across the banking and financial services sectors.

She is also among the founders of the Professional Women Network (PWN) and has been involved in initiatives supporting the development and growth of small and medium-sized enterprises.

As she takes charge of Mastercard’s EEMEA operations, Bedir said she would build on the work established by the regional leadership team under Dosis. “Together, we will build on the strong foundation the regional team has created under Dimi’s leadership over the past five years,” Bedir said.

The appointment comes as Mastercard continues to strengthen its presence across the diverse EEMEA region, bringing together markets with distinct economic, regulatory and consumer landscapes under its expanded regional leadership.
