Havas has announced a strengthened leadership structure for its African operations, appointing Roxana Ravjee as Regional CEO, Africa. The move comes as the Group increases its focus and investment across the continent.
As part of the expanded structure, Dany Naaman, currently CEO of the Middle East region (Media), will take on strategic oversight of Africa alongside his existing responsibilities. Naaman will continue to co-lead the Middle East region (Media) with Bertille Toledano, who oversees Creative.
Reporting to Naaman, Ravjee will be responsible for the day-to-day management of Havas’ African network. Her remit will span operations and teams across the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Gabon, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Nigeria, Senegal and South Africa.
Ravjee and Naaman will work with teams across these markets to advance Havas’ growth ambitions in Africa, with a focus on greater collaboration, innovation and creating value for clients and communities.
The leadership transition follows two years of significant development under Provit Chemmani, CEO Africa and Global Managing Director – COE @ Havas Media Network. During his tenure, Chemmani strengthened Havas Africa’s capabilities, developed talent and helped establish a platform for the network’s continued expansion.
As part of the transition, Chemmani will remain involved in overseeing the business through the end of 2026 before moving into a global role.
“Leadership is ultimately about knowing when a business is ready for its next evolution. I am incredibly proud of what we have built across Africa,” said Chemmani.
“The talent we have developed, the relationships we have strengthened, and the culture we have created. Roxana brings the experience, energy and perspective needed for this next chapter. I have every confidence that she will take Havas Africa forward with authenticity and ambition.”
Ravjee joins Havas with more than two decades of experience spanning marketing, advertising, business transformation and growth. She most recently served as CEO of Dentsu South Africa, bringing extensive experience in leading businesses and driving transformation within the African market.
Commenting on her new role, Ravjee said, “Africa has always been a continent driven by creativity, resilience and possibility. What excites me about this opportunity is being able to contribute to a business that recognises the power of people and the importance of meaningful work. Technology will continue to transform our industry, but our ability to understand people, solve real challenges and create connections that matter will always be our greatest strength.”
The appointment marks another step in Havas’ broader Africa strategy, with the Group aiming to build on its existing capabilities and strengthen its presence across key markets on the continent.
