The UAE Government Media Office has unveiled a new Government Media Content Guideline designed to enhance the quality, consistency, and impact of communication across federal entities. The announcement was made during the latest Government Communication Network meeting held at Creators HQ in Dubai, attended by His Excellency Saeed Al Eter, Chairman of the UAE Government Media Office, along with communication leaders and officials from federal government organisations.
The newly launched framework is part of the UAE’s broader efforts to strengthen its government communication ecosystem, establish unified professional standards, and equip communication teams with practical tools to create more engaging, audience-centric, and strategically aligned content.
Addressing attendees, Al Eter emphasized the importance of developing a modern communications infrastructure that can adapt to rapidly evolving global trends. He highlighted the UAE’s ongoing investment in a communication ecosystem driven by data, knowledge, and advanced digital technologies, with a focus on producing credible, influential content that resonates with diverse audiences while keeping citizens at the heart of every message.
Al Eter also underscored the transformative potential of artificial intelligence in government communications, identifying Agentic AI as a pivotal technology for the future. He noted that AI-powered capabilities can support real-time content creation, improve responses to misinformation, strengthen crisis communication efforts, and enhance engagement with digital communities. According to him, these advancements will make government communications more proactive, agile, and effective.
The event also featured a specialised presentation by the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA) titled The UAE Model in Crisis Media Management. The session explored the communication principles and strategies employed during emergencies, drawing on the nation’s practical experiences and established best practices.
Participants examined how communication serves as a frontline function during crises, helping build public trust, curb misinformation, and ensure coordinated responses across institutions during periods of uncertainty.
A key highlight of the gathering was the introduction of the Government Media Content Guideline itself. The comprehensive framework provides communication teams with structured methodologies covering the entire content creation lifecycle, from planning and editorial direction to message development, content production, and distribution across multiple platforms.
The guidelines establish standards aimed at ensuring government communications remain clear, cohesive, aligned with the UAE’s communication identity, and effective in reaching intended audiences.
To complement the launch, the UAE Government Media Office hosted an interactive workshop focused on practical content creation. The session enabled communication professionals to apply the framework’s principles through hands-on exercises covering storytelling, message development, and content adaptation for different platforms.
Designed as a collaborative learning experience rather than a traditional lecture, the workshop provided participants with practical exposure to both the creative and strategic aspects of content development, from initial concept creation to audience engagement strategies after publication.
