Tapper, a leading traffic quality infrastructure platform supporting performance marketing across ecosystems like Google, Meta, TikTok, and mobile app acquisition, has announced the appointment of Steven Ghoussain as Head of Data and AI. The move comes as the company continues to expand its presence across regional and global markets.
Ghoussain brings extensive expertise in fraud prevention, machine learning, and large-scale data science leadership. Over the years, he has built and led fraud protection systems at Careem, served as Senior Director of Data Science at Emirates NBD, and worked as a Staff Data Scientist at Uber. His experience spans complex, high-impact environments, with a consistent focus on applying data science to solve large-scale challenges.
In his new role, Ghoussain will oversee Tapper’s data and AI capabilities, enhancing its fraud detection mechanisms, product intelligence, and decision-making systems. His appointment aligns with Tapper’s ongoing investment in advanced technology and senior leadership as it scales operations across markets.
The company continues to strengthen its regional footprint despite broader market uncertainties, underlining its commitment to innovation and building robust, locally-driven technical capabilities.
Nasser Oudjidane, Co-Founder and CEO of Tapper, said, “Steven joining Tapper is a statement of intent. We are building world-class traffic quality infrastructure from this region, and his experience across fraud, machine learning, and large-scale data systems is exactly what we need for the next stage of growth.”
Commenting on his appointment, Ghoussain said, “Fraud and invalid traffic are among the biggest unsolved problems in performance marketing. Billions of dollars in ad spend are still being wasted on clicks and impressions that have no genuine value, and most advertisers do not have the tools to see it clearly, let alone stop it. That is what drew me to Tapper.
He added, “The opportunity to build advanced data science systems that help customers protect their budgets and trust the data they are making decisions with is exactly the kind of challenge I want to be working on. I am confident in the regional opportunity and in where Tapper is heading, even against a backdrop of broader uncertainty.”
Tapper’s platform helps advertisers eliminate invalid traffic, fraudulent clicks, and low-quality leads in real time across major digital channels. By improving traffic quality at the source, it enables marketers to lower acquisition costs, enhance conversion accuracy, and make more informed optimisation decisions based on reliable data.
With Ghoussain now part of the leadership team, Tapper is set to further strengthen its technical foundation and accelerate long-term growth across the region.
