Omnicom Media MENA Announces Wissam Najjar’s Appointment as Chief Commercial Officer

Omnicom Media MENA has announced the appointment of Wissam Najjar as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), expanding his responsibilities from his previous role as Chief Operating Officer (COO). The appointment is part of the media group’s new operating model aimed at strengthening commercial integration, enhancing specialist expertise, and delivering improved business outcomes for clients across the Middle East and North Africa.

The new structure comes as brands increasingly expect media agencies to deliver stronger accountability, faster execution, and measurable business impact from their marketing investments.

In his new role, Najjar will oversee an integrated commercial framework spanning investment, trading, partnerships, commercial strategy, investment operations, and forecasting. The approach is intended to improve collaboration across specialist teams while supporting agencies operating across the region’s varied markets.

Commenting on the appointment, Elda Choucair, CEO of Omnicom Media MENA, said: “As media becomes more complex, our role is not simply to manage investment but to help clients move faster, act with greater confidence and deliver stronger business outcomes.”

The appointment aligns with Omnicom Media’s broader global transformation strategy, which brings together key disciplines including strategy, investment, partnerships, data, technology, and execution into a more integrated operating model.

For clients across the MENA region, the revised structure is designed to provide easier access to specialist expertise, encourage greater consistency in applying best practices across markets, and improve the speed and efficiency of campaign execution and commercial decision-making.

Speaking about his expanded responsibilities, Wissam Najjar said: “By bringing our commercial capabilities closer together, we can move faster, apply expertise more consistently across markets and help clients unlock more value from their investments.”

The appointment also reflects a wider shift within the regional media industry, where agency networks are increasingly integrating data, technology, investment, and commercial functions to help brands achieve stronger and more measurable returns from their media investments.
