Dubai Airports has announced three senior leadership appointments aimed at strengthening its technology, operational, and national talent capabilities as it prepares for the next stage of growth at Dubai International (DXB) and Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum International (DWC).
The appointments include the promotion of Kan Ni from Vice President, Airport Operations Control Centre (AOCC), to Senior Vice President, Airport Operations, and Khalid Ishaq from Head of AOCC Integration to Vice President, AOCC. In addition, Ahmad Al Bastaki has joined the organisation as Vice President, Technology Operations and Cybersecurity within the Business Technology division.
These leadership changes reflect Dubai Airports’ continued focus on building the expertise required to support the future growth of Dubai’s aviation ecosystem.

These appointments reinforce the leadership capability we need for the future, combining specialist technology expertise, deep operational experience and strong Emirati talent in areas that are increasingly central to airport performance and resilience.”
The promotions of Kan Ni and Khalid Ishaq further reinforce the Airport Operations Control Centre (AOCC), the operational hub responsible for coordinating the daily movement of around 200,000 passengers through DXB.
Kan Ni has played a significant role in transforming the AOCC into a data-driven coordination platform that supports seamless airport operations. His leadership was particularly evident during recent regional airspace disruptions, where he worked closely with aviation stakeholders to help maintain safe and efficient airport operations.
Khalid Ishaq, who joined Dubai Airports in 2005, has built extensive operational expertise over two decades. His elevation also highlights the organisation’s commitment to nurturing Emirati leadership, with Emiratis representing 75% of its management team in line with initiatives such as Nafis and the Dubai Economic Agenda D33.
Meanwhile, Ahmad Al Bastaki’s appointment strengthens the organisation’s technology leadership as airports increasingly rely on digital infrastructure. In his new role, he will oversee cybersecurity, technology infrastructure, and service management to enhance operational resilience and support future digital transformation initiatives.
The appointments align with Dubai Airports’ broader strategy of advancing operational excellence, improving guest experiences, accelerating digital transformation, and expanding future airport capacity.
