du Pay, the digital financial services division of du, has named Roberto Mancone as its new Chief Executive Officer. With more than 25 years of experience in fintech and digital banking across the USA, Europe, the UK, and the GCC, Mancone will lead the company’s next phase of growth and expansion.
The leadership appointment comes as du Pay moves beyond its scale-up stage and focuses on accelerating its digital finance ambitions. Operating under the regulatory oversight of the UAE Central Bank, the platform currently provides services such as peer-to-peer transfers, remittances, merchant payments, cash-in and cash-out solutions, debit cards, and IBAN accounts. The company also plans to broaden its offerings into areas including insurance, lending, and investment products through internal innovation and strategic collaborations.
Fahad Al Hassawi, Chairman of duPay said: “We are excited to welcome Roberto Mancone to the du Pay team as we enter the next chapter of our fintech journey. His expertise positions him to strengthen our partnerships across the ecosystem while advancing our mission to transform digital payments in the UAE market. Roberto’s extensive experience will be invaluable as we continue to innovate and contribute to the rapidly evolving fintech landscape.”
As CEO, Mancone will oversee the company’s strategic roadmap, commercial development, compliance framework, and operational direction. Prior to joining du Pay, he served as CEO of BEYON Money in Bahrain and the UAE, where he played a key role in launching and scaling a national digital finance platform backed by a sovereign fund.
Under his leadership, du Pay aims to further strengthen its role in supporting the UAE’s financial inclusion and cashless economy initiatives. Since launch, the platform has crossed 1.4 million downloads and processed transactions exceeding AED 4 billion. It offers zero-balance digital wallets, free IBAN access, prepaid cards, international remittance services to over 200 countries, utility payments, mobile recharges, and peer-to-peer transfers, helping underserved communities access digital financial services more easily.
In 2025, the company introduced the ‘Salary in the Digital Wallet’ feature, enabling workers to receive salaries directly into digital wallets without requiring traditional bank accounts. du Pay has also earned industry recognition, including the E-Payment Solution of the Year title at the Entrepreneur Leaders in E-Business Awards 2025 and Visa’s Partnership Excellence Award.
