Snap Inc. has broadened the responsibilities of Hussein Freijeh, appointing him as Vice President for both Asia-Pacific (APAC) and the Middle East & North Africa (MENA). In his expanded role, Freijeh will guide Snap’s strategic direction and operations across two of the company’s fastest-growing and most dynamic regions.
Freijeh has been instrumental in building and scaling Snap’s footprint in the Middle East, demonstrating a consistent ability to accelerate growth, cultivate strong teams, and navigate rapidly evolving markets. His expanded remit reflects Snap’s commitment to strengthening its presence globally.
Commenting on the leadership realignment, Ajit Mohan, Chief Business Officer, Snap Inc., said, “Bringing MENA and APAC under a single leadership structure is a strategic step for our next phase of growth.”
Mohan further added, “Hussein’s deep experience navigating complex, fast-evolving markets – combined with his long and successful tenure at Snap – makes him uniquely positioned to lead both regions. I am confident in his ability to drive new dynamism in the two regions and help bring the best of Snap to our clients and partners.”
The APAC region continues to be a significant growth driver for Snap, with India alone contributing more than 250 million monthly users, alongside strong momentum in China, Australia, and New Zealand.
Sharing his excitement about the expanded mandate, Freijeh said, “It’s a privilege to take on this expanded role at such a pivotal moment for Snap. MENA and APAC are two of the most dynamic, creative, and fast-moving regions in the world. I’m excited to work even more closely with our teams and partners to accelerate growth, deepen our investment in local communities, and continue building products and experiences that reflect the needs and ambitions of our audiences across both regions.”
Snap continues to bolster its presence in both regions. Earlier this year, the company opened its new office in Doha’s Msheireb district, attended by Founder and CEO Evan Spiegel and Sheikh Jassim bin Mansour bin Jabor Al Thani. The expansion also featured an immersive augmented reality activation in collaboration with Qatar Museums as part of the ‘Evolution Nation’ campaign—celebrating Qatar’s cultural narrative through advanced digital experiences.
With thriving communities across South-East Asia and increasing engagement from export advertisers, APAC remains central to Snap’s international growth roadmap.
