Serviceplan Group Middle East has announced the appointment of Varun Kohli as chief financial officer (CFO) for the region.
With over 20 years of experience in the communications and finance industries, Varun brings a wealth of expertise in financial leadership, business operations, and strategic growth. Before joining Serviceplan, he held senior roles at leading global advertising and media groups, where he was instrumental in driving performance and building financial frameworks to support creative excellence and expansion.
Varun joins at an exciting time of growth for Serviceplan Group Middle East, which has expanded from 60 to 170 colleagues in just five years, secured major client wins, and opened new offices across the region. The group in the Middle East consists of four key brands; Serviceplan Middle East, Mediaplus Middle East, Serviceplan Experience and Serviceplan Arabia — working together to deliver fully integrated creative and media solutions. Having visited Serviceplan Group’s headquarters in Munich, Varun has already become familiar with the unique ‘ÜberCreative’ philosophy and global structure of one of the largest independent agency network.
“With his extensive track record in financial leadership across the region, Varun will play a key role in aligning our agencies’ growth ambitions with Serviceplan Group’s strategic and performance goals,” said Jürgen Hinterkircher, international CFO, Serviceplan Group. “His expertise adds further depth to our international CFO community and I’m both proud and excited to have him on our team!”
“I’m thrilled to be joining Serviceplan Group Middle East,” said Varun Kohli. “The fast-moving pace of this industry keeps me inspired every day. What impressed me most about Serviceplan is the bold creativity, the entrepreneurial spirit, and the incredible growth story of the region. It’s exciting to be part of this journey and to contribute to what’s ahead.”
In his new role, Varun will oversee financial strategy and operations across Serviceplan Group Middle East. He will play a central part in accelerating the Saudi expansion of Serviceplan Arabia and Mediaplus Middle East, working closely with managing partners Rami Hmadeh and Azhar Siddiqui, respectively. In the UAE, he will focus on enhancing operational efficiency and integration alongside Natalie Shardan, managing partner Serviceplan Middle East.
