Dubai, UAE: Danube Home has appointed Sayed Habib as its new Chief Executive Officer, marking a significant leadership milestone for the home improvement and furnishings retailer. Habib, who joined the company 17 years ago as a Buyer (Product Manager), announced his appointment through a LinkedIn post, reflecting on his journey from an entry-level role to leading the business.
His appointment underscores Danube Home’s long-standing focus on internal talent development and leadership progression, with Habib having spent nearly two decades growing alongside the organisation.
During his tenure, Habib has held several leadership positions across the business, including Deputy General Manager – Buying & Business Development, General Manager, Director – Business Development, where he oversaw e-commerce and franchise operations, and most recently, Director – Operations & P&L. His experience spans merchandising, business development, operations, commercial strategy and profitability management.
Sharing the news on LinkedIn, Habib reflected on the people who played a pivotal role in his professional journey.
“This wasn’t a solo journey. I owe so much of where I am to Rizwan Sajan, who saw something in me long before I saw it myself, and to Adel Sajan, who trusted me with the autonomy to help build Danube Home into what it is today.”
He also acknowledged the contribution of colleagues and teams who supported him throughout his career at the company.
The announcement coincided with a company event recognising long-serving employees, where 40 team members were honoured for their years of service and contributions. Habib described the occasion as a reflection of the company’s culture of investing in its people.
Expressing gratitude to his mentors, colleagues and the wider Danube Home team, Habib added:
“To everyone who’s been part of my story, and to the incredible team I get to lead into this next chapter, thank you. This is just as much yours as it is mine. Here’s to building what’s next, together.”
Prior to joining Danube Home, Habib held roles across retail and financial services, working with organizations including Mega Group, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Total Fina Elf and Apollo Tyres.
The leadership appointment highlights Danube Home’s emphasis on developing talent from within while reinforcing continuity as the company continues its growth across the region.
