Boundless has appointed Fran Luckin as its Co-Chief Creative Officer, strengthening its leadership team as it continues to expand its global creative ambitions.
Luckin, widely recognised as one of South Africa’s most accomplished and respected creative leaders, steps into the role with immediate effect. She will share creative leadership responsibilities alongside Roanna Williams, overseeing the agency’s creative output across its international network and guiding the broader creative team.
Her appointment marks a significant step in Boundless’ long-term vision to elevate its position as a globally recognised creative powerhouse.
Boundless Founder, Paul Jackson, said the appointment represents a major step forward in the agency’s long-term ambition to become the most extremely creative and loud global powerhouse the industry has ever seen.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to have Fran join us,” he said. “Not just because she’s one of the sharpest creative minds in the business, but because she’s also a wonderful human being, which frankly feels like an unfair advantage in advertising.”
He added, “Between Fran and Roanna, we now have two of the most formidable creative leaders in the business guiding our work. Which means the rest of you will have to try much, much harder.”
Luckin brings a strong track record of building high-performing creative teams and delivering award-winning campaigns. Over the years, she has played a key role in shaping some of South Africa’s most prominent agencies and has earned widespread industry recognition.
Roanna Williams highlighted that Luckin’s strengths extend beyond accolades, emphasising her ability to foster creative environments where people feel empowered to think differently.
“Fran has that rare ability to combine creative excellence with humanity,” said Roanna. “She understands that great work comes from people who feel brave enough to think differently. And thinking differently is exactly what Boundless is all about.”
She added, “Also, she’s extremely funny, which is useful because this industry takes itself way too seriously.”
Luckin also shared her excitement about joining the agency and its creative philosophy.
“Advertising can get a little obsessed with itself,” said Fran. “What I love about Boundless is the focus on ideas that people actually enjoy. Also, the snacks are excellent.”
With Luckin and Williams now leading the creative function together, Boundless aims to deliver work that resonates across cultures while strengthening its global creative footprint.
