AmiViz Names Ramkumar Balakrishnan as CEO to Drive Regional Expansion and AI-Led Growth

AmiViz, a leading cybersecurity and AI-focused value-added distributor in the Middle East, has announced the appointment of Ramkumar Balakrishnan as its new Chief Executive Officer. The move marks a major step in the company’s long-term growth strategy across the Middle East and Africa.

With this leadership transition, AmiViz aims to strengthen its position as a services-driven and consultative technology partner across areas including cybersecurity, Agentic AI, hybrid cloud, digital infrastructure and data resilience.

Balakrishnan brings more than 25 years of industry experience spanning India, the Middle East, Africa and the wider EMEA region. Throughout his career, he has held senior leadership roles at companies including IBM, Redington Gulf and Amazon Web Services.

He is recognised for playing a key role in building and scaling Redington Gulf’s value-added distribution operations, while also leading channel operations for AWS across EMEA in his most recent role. Over the years, he has contributed to the onboarding of more than 70 global technology vendors and helped accelerate cloud adoption through innovative partner engagement models.

Speaking on his appointment, Ramkumar Balakrishnan said: “AmiViz is entering one of the most exciting chapters in its journey. The region is undergoing a profound shift driven by cloud, data intelligence and the rise of Agentic AI. My focus will be on strengthening our five strategic pillars and empowering our partners with the technologies, services and expertise they need to lead in this new digital era. Together, we will build a future-ready ecosystem that delivers meaningful outcomes for customers across the Middle East and Africa.”

The appointment comes at a time when AmiViz is broadening its focus beyond cybersecurity to meet rising regional demand for sovereign cloud solutions, AI-led innovation, digital infrastructure and data governance.

The company is also preparing to expand further into Africa in 2026 while strengthening its footprint across the Middle East. Planned investments in regional talent, infrastructure and a new AI Centre of Excellence in the UAE are expected to support the company’s next stage of growth.

Under Balakrishnan’s leadership, AmiViz aims to accelerate innovation, deepen partner enablement and expand its role in the region’s rapidly evolving technology ecosystem.
